We are looking for a clinical fellow speech-language pathologist (CF-SLP) to join our team at Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) for a 1-year training opportunity in clinical practice and leadership development! MMI’s mission is to lead the world in transforming the lives of all individuals with disabilities and special health care needs, their families and communities through outreach, engagement, premier educational programs, innovative research and extraordinary patient care.
We are looking for a CF-SLP who is interested in working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an outpatient setting and participating in the MMI LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disorders) Program. Clinical opportunities include evaluation and treatment of clients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders and supporting those who communicate with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). LEND opportunities include: completing interdisciplinary observations, attending seminars, participating in a service learning project, completing a research project with supervision.
Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30. Our main location is located near the Aksarben campus in Omaha, a progressive and vibrant metropolitan area, with additional off-site clinics in Omaha. Job requirements include: Master’s Degree from an accredited university, eligible for clinical fellowship, and a Nebraska temporary license.
This SLP would work closely with families, providers from all disciplines at MMI, and the LEND team, as well as the entire SLP Department at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. The Speech-Language Pathology Department at MMI consists of 29 SLPs and 3 faculty with a wide range of specialties, including motor speech, language, voice, AAC, cognitive-communication disorders, and swallowing. As a part of an academic medical center, we are committed to teaching students and advancing the field of speech-language pathology through research and other scholarly activities. The Department actively participates in journal club, monthly TheraChat conferences, and an annual AAC conference to ensure evidence-based practices.
