API Scholarship

The Asian Pacific Islander Speech-Language-Hearing Caucus has established an API Scholarship for Students.

API Student Scholarship

The Asian Pacific Islander Speech-Language-Hearing Caucus has established an API Scholarship for Students.

Scholarship Amount: $500

Applicants need to meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Currently an API Speech-Language-Hearing Caucus member
  2. Currently is accepted for or enrolled in undergraduate or graduate study in a communication sciences and disorders program (unofficial transcript needed to verify student status)
  3. Asian or Pacific Island heritage

If you meet the requirements, please prepare a personal statement (800 words or less) addressing all of the following areas:

  1. Describe your current academic and clinical abilities and potential
  2. Describe your current and future role in supporting the caucus goals (available on apislhc.org)
  3. Address your financial need

Deadline: Please submit required application documents (transcript and personal statement) to asha.api.caucus@gmail.com by October 19, 2025.

*Official university documents will be required prior to disbursement of funds.

API Convention Scholarship

The Asian Pacific Islander Speech-Language-Hearing Caucus has established an API Scholarship for Students and Non-Students to attend the 2025 ASHA Convention

Scholarship Amount: Student $250 | Non-Student $400

Applicants need to meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Currently an API Speech-Language-Hearing Caucus member
  2. Will attend 2025 ASHA Convention in Washington, D.C., in-person
  3. Asian or Pacific Island heritage

Funds may be used towards cost of registration, accommodations, and/or travel. If you meet the requirements, please prepare a personal statement (800 words or less) addressing all of the following areas:

  1. Describe how attending the ASHA Convention will support your personal goals
  2. Describe your current and future role in supporting the caucus goals (available on apislhc.org)
  3. Address your financial need

Deadline: Please submit required application documents (personal statement and proof of ASHA Convention registration) to asha.api.caucus@gmail.com by October 26, 2025

*Recipients are required to attend API Caucus Social Hour on Thursday 11/20 at 7:00 PM and API Caucus Presentation on Friday 11/21 at 1:30 PM
