The caucus established the API Antiracism Learning Community to support Black Lives Matter to respond to the George Floyd tragedy in 2020. We discuss challenges and share perspectives and resources with members in a monthly meeting throughout the year. Mission: Building a supportive community of antiracist speech-language-hearing students and professionals from Asian Pacific Islander backgrounds and those who serve Asian Pacific Islander communities to dismantle racism and anti-Blackness through learning, advocating, and collaborating.
Values: Members of the ALC shall continuously work towards being an antiracist through mentoring, supporting, empowering, learning, teaching, advocating, as well as actively participating in civic engagement and civil solidarity.
